Muscle weakness or loss of muscle function (paralysis) affects both sides of the body. The muscle weakness begins in the lower extremity and prognos to upper extremity which is called ascending neuromuscular weakness syndrome

If the inflammation affects the nerves of the chest and diaphragm which helps in breathing and when those muscles are weak, you may need breathing assistance.

Individuals who has been tested positive should be checked for these sign and symptoms and selected

typical signs and symptoms of GBS include:

  • Loss of reflex of tendon in extremities
  • Tingling and loss of sensation
  • Muscle tenderness
  • Uncoordinated movements resulting in difficulty in walking
  • Low BP
  • Abnormal heart rate
  • Blurred and double vision
  • Clumsiness and falling
  • Difficulty moving facial muscles
  • Muscle contractions
  • Feeling of palpitations

Emergency signs and symptoms

  • Breathing temporarily gets paused
  • Inability to take a deep breaths
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Drooling
  • Fainting
  • Feeling light headed when standing

Those individuals tested positive for HIV can be tested with

  • Lumbar puncture or spinal tap
  • Electromyography and nerve conduction test
  • Magnetic resonance imaging :This test may be used to get an image of our patient's spine. It’s used less often than lumbar puncture and EMG in diagnosing assending neuromuscular weakness syndrome.

The individual selected will have positive results for HIV and assending neuromuscular weakness syndrome test.
