Spulum cultures show the presence of gram-positive diplococci. Antibiotic sensitivity testing shows sen- sitivity to ceclor and ciprofloxacin and resistance to other antibiotics. The first thing done here is delay in sending a sample collected (urine sample) .Usually it has to be sent within 2 hours .So a delay in this can lead to growth of microorganisms and give wrong results. In order to prevent this the nurse should have ensured that sample is sent at the right time.

The patient should have assessed for progress after antibiotic administration for UTI which is lacking, so it has to be done.

Moreover the antibiotics was given with a sensitivity test which has led to unnecessary and non effective antibiotics for the patients. Which could lead to resistance .

If patient is admitted for respiratory issue then first it has to be assessed and treated than other body systems to prevent complications.
