Pros for big local government units-
1.Local needs are understood better by local government than federal and they react far more quicker than federal government because of this.
2.Managing services is more efficient and effective than the centre (Federal Government).
3.People can easily vote in favour or not in favour of the local council, who are running services to the people, the council can carry out local referenda and consultations to allow local people to express their views .
4.Any problem occurring in a particular area can be resolved and understood by the local government .
5.Various needs of the local, like building of school, bridges ,roads can be carried out by the big local government units. They are ones who develop the area.
Cons of big local government unit:-
1.Funds are scarce
2.Local government leaders neglect to value the state and the national issue,
3.Political Parties might have fixed views which are captured by them from certain small shopkeepers and tenant's association's. Party politics are not relevant at local level.
4.It is hard to get people or appoint capable people for Councillors at local level.
