- Assess blood glucose level before meals and at bedtime. Monitor patient’s HbA1c-glycosylated hemoglobin. Assess feet for temperature, pulses, color, and sensation. Teach patient how to perform home glucose monitoring. Monitor urine albumin to serum creatinine for renal failure.
