Assignment We are currently under shelter in place mandate due to the COVID-19. Nursing has been placed in the front lines to combat this pandemic. Those of you who like adventure and challenge, Nursing is your calling!! You will never be bored in Nursing. I would like a discussion on how this pandemic will affect our pediatric patients? How would you approach a preschooler, school-age child or adolescent concerning COVID-19? What are the health implications of a child who has contracted the COVID-19? A.The symptoms of COVID19 are similar in children and adults ,Reported symptoms in children include cold like symptoms,such as fever,runny nose,and cough.vomiting and diarrhea have also be reported.it's not known yet wether some children may be at high risk for sever illness,for example,children with underlying medical conditions and special health Care needs.

B.If child has a cough or fever separate them from children and contact their guardians to send them home or keep them from care.Take common sense steps and help children and families do the same.a.wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.b.Avoid touching your eyes,nose,or mouth with unwashed hands.c .Avoid contact with others who sick.d.cough or sneeze into a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash .e.Clean frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs,light switchs,tables,countertops,and toilets with cleaner's. Like this we can approach the patient with symptoms of COVID19

3.Health implications of children with COVID 19 : There is no evidence of difference in seviarity of health problems in children and adults .How ever Children are high risk due to pooly developed immune system.
