You have had a bumpy month. You are in the middle of transitioning to a new EMR system that requires an initial output of double labor to scan paper documents into the new electronic system, so everything seems to be getting back up. The staff is trying to adjust to the new system but many are not comfortable with new technologies and are doing "work-arounds" with written slips of paper instead of charts or EMR. Your clinic has been very busy and tempers are often a bit short. You have one particularly outspoken medical assistant who is very negative. \ She has been there for over 10 years and is sharing her thoughts about how screwed up everything is, including with the patients. What are your thoughts about options? Do you tell the staff to just "tough it out"? What about the negative MA? Although the clinic is very full, the budget is also very tight, so your financial options may be a bit limited. Any ideas?
* Though advancements in equipment in the form of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) is in transition in the hospital, which is not acceptable for all the staff. Some years of work is going to replace by new implementation of electronic system. Staff members are freshly new for the new format of the hospital. Medical assistant is negative on the ongoing changes as she posses an experience of over than 10 years in her department. By seeing of all the options it seems that it is not that easy to launch a EMS in the work area, which includes a lot of effort to make things easier.
* Involving staff in new changes of electronic system, makes her participation a key role in successful zone of area. As she is a senior staff in the institute, taking her guidelines, using her experience, put forwarding her opinions in each and every phase makes her to adjust with the current phase of situation.
* As medical assistant is negative on the phase of work, where clinic is in financial crisis and full patients in the clinic make medical assistant to get anger and negative. On considering all the above factors, it is not that easy to go for new electronic machine in the clinic. To get started with the machine firstly all the staff should get practice and aware on the machine. Considering all the benefits and losses launching of a new electronic machine in place of paper slips is a better idea to promote better health services, saves more time, easy working experience with the staff is possible. If financial crisis are there then go for funding system approaching to higher authorities of hospital and Government can solve the problem to some extent. Hence, by using of these ideas it is easy to overcome the problems and promote a comfortable environment to all the members in the clinic.
