The least likely test to run when evaluating the patient for iron deficiency anemai is serum methylmeloanic acid test as this is used to evaluate the pernicious anemia in the patients. The TIBC is done to see the blood attachment towards iron and other tests such as serum ferritin and mean corspuscular volumes is done to identify the iron deficiency anemia.
