What are ways to overcome limitations in prospective and retrospective cohort studies?
Cohort studies are the studies that are done on perfection bases as they build an assessment between the exposures and their outcomes. In such cases random decisions can't be made, so an accurate approach is required.
These both the types of cohort studies i.e the prospective and retrospective study, have higher accuracy and higher efficiency in their results.
Besides all these positive facts there are some negative facts too that are related to them which included collecting huge data, spending huge amount of money and time, they are not specific for some rare diseases, etc
To overcome such limitations some measures had to be taken mutually for both prospective and retrospective study. Such measures should be having an adequate sized sample of study, subjects should be of equal tendency to remember for evaluation, all the data should be collected in similar formats, very precise or accurate methods should be used for analysis, and the data collected should be divided into homogeneous subgroups for equal analysis in faster manner.
Such measures can help to overcome the problems with both the studies.
