A. The observations that can be done in nursing homes to prevent elder abuse are :-

- formulation of rules and regulations to be maintained in a nursing home

- surveillance

- taking feedback from the patients

- management minitoring team to look after the care provided by staffs

- punishments in the form fine and cancellation of licence for those who abuses elders

B. All the data collected regarding abuse should be transmitted to the government and should analyse the problems to find a solution . Some of the specific issues with for profit nursing homes are :-

- less staffs to take care of

- lack of resources

- undue burden on staffs due to shortage

- focus on revenue ,not on patient care

- malpractice and negligence
