• Liver is the main site for metabolism of exogenous substance like drug.
• Drug elimination reaction are divided into 2 phases. In phase I reaction functional groups are added to fldrug. In phase II reaction the conjugation reaction takes place. The ultimate result is making drug MORE WATER soluble (or less lipid soluble) and this favours elimination of drug from body.
