• Otis media is a middle ear infection that most often caused by bacterial infection.
• It happens due to the presence of fluid in the eardrum followed by severe cold or flu.
• This can be treated by placing of PE tube(Pressure Equalizer tube) in the middle ear which helps to prevent the accumulation of fluid in the ear and promotes airway to the middle ear.

• Amoxicillin is the first line of drug used to treat middle ear infection.
• It is effective against gram-negative bacteria and inhibits the activity of the bacteria and thereby reduces the infection.
• It is safe to use, effective, and inexpensive drug.
