Answer #1

23. How many1:4 solution is needed to prepare 4000ml of 3% solution?

Here we can say that 1:4 = 4000:X

1/4 = 4000/Xml

0.25 x X = 4000

X = 4000/0.25

=16000

Here we need to prepare the 4000ml of 3% solution

ie, = 16000/100 x 3

480 ml

2. The surgical nursing station calls and asks for 20 litres of benzalkonium chloride 1:3000 for instrument cleaning. How many ml of benzalkonium chloride 14% would you need to prepare each litre of the solution?

1;3000 = 20:X

1/3000 =20/X

0.0003X = 20

X= 20/0.0003

=6666.6

14% = 9333
