Compassion fatigue is short of feelings for others during their trouble or suffering. It can be a feeling of hopelessness or indifference among individual. It was actually first identified among nurses.In managed care working as an interdisciplinary team at sometimes can be more stressful impairing the functions in the healthcare field.

Some of the strategies to avoid compassion fatigue are

• Understanding and having a knowledge on the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue(this can identify the risk and help in taking appropriate measures)
  • E.g.,A newly graduated nurse may have lack of knowledge to care for patients practically inducing stress and fatigue in th job
• Practicing good self care ,meeting at least the basic needs can rejuvenate oneself who cares for others in most of the time from their career and personal life.(This can relieve stress, tension and help to regain the lost energy)
  • E.g.,A nurse who cares for multiple patients in a busy ward needs care for self like meeting at least her nutritional needs during duty
• It is essential to practice exercise ,yoga,meditation (which can flush out toxins and enable release of hormones and stress relievers and make one physically and mentally strong.
  • E.g.,A health-care professionals  will certainly have physical exertion leading to muscle pain,body pain.
• Ensure to relax after a busy work schedule (this aides refreshments )
