The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act was enacted in 2009 .This was enacted to make the healthcare sector to enforce or adopt the Health Information Technology. It works towards the achievement if 5 goals of US healthcare .It is also called as HIPAA II

They mainly deals with the minimal disclosure of reports,conducting audits,accountable,it has copies of records,subjects marketing strategy in healthcare, leaving fines for violation.

It mandates audits to determine whether the healthcare organization is HIPAA compliance

Some of the sections in it are as following

The privacy and security concerns are described in subtitle D

Section 1176a(categorised violation into 4 ,increased the minimum penalty amount, $1.5million is the highest penalty amount )

Section 1176b enacts that even a small amount of penalties will be imposed if the covered entity is unaware,if a violation is corrected or rectified in r0 days then there is no penalty
