Evaluation design in public health.

Evaluation design supplies the information required to answer each of the evaluation questions. It is a structure for evaluation and it should be based on the public health programme's theory and logic.

Continued development of public health programmes are very important, as they adrress the important issues in a community. Evaluation designs play a major role in the continuation of health programmes. Evaluation is an integral part of public health. Through evaluation effectiveness of health programmes can be checked inturn it will help us to determine whether to continue the health programmes or not.

Public health programmes are often complex and have to address large populations and problems. If the evaluation conducts in a feasible and practical also in ethical manner, it will serve a good purpose. Questions used in evauation design are in the areas of implementation, effectiveness, efficiency, cost effectiveness. To ensure that the resources are not washed off by ineffective programmes also the effective programmes are maintaining by the Government, evaluation process is used. Thus it plays a major role in continuing the public health programme .

Programme evaluation

Any set of organized activities are called a programme. Programme Evaluation is a process to know how much extent the set goals and objectives are achieved.

Programme evaluation and any health practice activities are involved the steps like data collection and analysis. Scientific methods are used in evaluation and practices. Either the research or the activities , knowledge will be generated. The purpose of the health programme evaluation or the research evaluation js to generate generalizable knowledge in a systematic method.
