Answer #1

Total time for the infusion is 5hours

Total volume of IV fluid is 1000ml

Flow rate would be = total volume in ml /total time (hrs)

= 1000/ 5 = 200ml/hour

Start time is 1.30 hours on 7/17/13.

a. It will take 5hours for the IV fluid to finish because the IV fluids has to be given with in 5hours .

b. At 6.30 hours the IV fluid will finish .

c. The physician discontinued the IV fluid at 0330 hours . The total fluid infused by this much time (2hours) is 400ml and the rest 600ml is in the IV fluid bottle . So the fluid level will be at 600ml
