POC (Point of Care) testing is used to get the report of certain test next to the patient (e.g.,checking blood sugar with glucometer)

Anemia screening is usually includes this method yo gegvthe report quickly .The device used is called as "Hemoglobinometer" HemoCue

The steps users needs to follow for checking haemoglobin are

  • Handwashing
  • Turn on the device
  • Check the machine with calibrating cuvattee ,it shoukd match to get the correct result ,with proper quality checks
  • wear the gloves
  • Do a finger stick test (finger finger pricking) and place the cuvatte until it is filled with blood
  • Wipe out any excess blood (not to touch the open end)
