Accident:

At a busy intersection, you see a crash involving a truck and a minivan. The truck’s driver says the minivan ran a red light, and he was unable to stop before hitting it. He tells you there are several people in the minivan and they all look seriously hurt. You open the minivan’s sliding door and see three people. One appears to be unresponsive; another is under the dashboard and yelling for help; and the third person is staring blankly and trying to talk.

As the first responder, list your actions in detail for EACH one of the victims followed by an explanation of why you chose to do what you did.

Earthquake:

A devastating earthquake has occurred, injuring a number of people in the store you are. Realizing that EMS will have their hands full and that it may take hours before they arrive, you start sorting (triaging) people.

As a first responder determine who should receive medical care and in what order. List the steps you will take to ensure the most injured victims will receive care immediately.

First responder are one who are come in care for victims in case of any accidents disasters. They should be completely aware of prioritizing the patient for care.

The unconscious patient has yo be addressed first to assess fir Airway,breathing and circulation, if not a CPR has to be started immediately to avoid brain death and further complications

In this case the first responder can rescue the victim from the dashboard and take to a safe zone with the help of others because single handling is dangerous as tere are chances the patient may be further injured ,because this patient is conscious and is in a painful status

The patient who is staring blankly and trying to talk is in a state of shock and as to recovered and taken for further neurological assessment and care.

Some of the steps to ensure that the most injured victims to receive immediate care from a first responder are

• Segregate the unconscious patient and give the first priority
• Patient who are bleeding are injury above the waist level,on spinal cord,head injury has to be given second priority
• People with lower limb, upper limb or extremities,immobile at the next level
• People who are in mild injury ,bruises,mobile can be treated at last
