  1. Electrolyte panel test:

It is an electrolyte panel test which is used to measure the electrolyte level in blood.

Patient preparation: The patient is advised to provide the fasting specimen of the blood for testing as a preferred specimen

Preferred specimen: fasting blood sample

Transport container: container‎: transport container is preferred

Temperature: preferred one is room temperature about 28-32ºC.

Clinical significance: electrolyte balance in blood loss in trauma, to assess the abnormal blood pressure and diuretic effect

  1. Hepatic function panel test

To check the levels of specific marker proteins and enzymes in blood, to assess the liver functioning

Patient preparation: The patient is advised to stop the eating & drinking before 8 to 12 hours

Preferred specimen: serum

Transport container: red top tube or green top, gel barrier tube as well as serum separator tube

Temperature: room temperature

Clinical significance: liver functioning testing by the specific marker enzymes and proteins
