It's totally true , even now also there is discrimination based on religion . A fine example for this is about the Dalit community , they are considered the backward class and religion in India . They are kept aside from everything ,they can't eat with other high class , they can't study with them ,they can't live with them etc . They are totally segregrated from the society just because they are Dalits . They are beaten harsh if they gets invved in any practices which are only made for high class religion . Government has made many laws against this but still in the remote areas its being practiced and these Dalits are used to clean toilets ,wash bathrooms ,etc because they are considered dirty by other religions . They are not allowed to study even if the student is good in studies they are forced to cleans toilets ,utensils etc .
