More than one million people are living with HIV in the USA. One in seven are unaware of their status. Rio grande river is the area which is affected more. According to cdc,diagnosis of HIV by race declared where latino is the race which rates the highest proportion. Latinos account for 18% of the 612,078 AIDS cases reported through June, 1997.(5) Latinos account for 23% of pediatric cases, 17% of adult male cases, and 20% of adult female cases. Of all racial/ethnic groups, Latino women, along with Asian/Pacific Islander women, have the highest proportion (46%) of exposure to AIDS through heterosexual transmission

Some of the issues for the latinx community in combating the HIV epidemic are :-

- Having multiple partners

- lack of condom use

- anal sex

- homosexual behavior in Latino men

- Injecrion drug use

- needle use behavior

- blood transfusion
