War poetry / Trench poetry
War poetry is also known as tench poetry. Trench is a narrow excavation as used in warfare, as a cover of besieging forces. During the world war I many soldiers spend hours and days in the trenches and many died in the trenches. The experiences in the trenches and the warfare were terrible for the soldiers. Some of them were expressed their feelings through the poems. These poems were came into light and the genre of war poetry or trench poetry started.
Poems from war poetry expresses the feelings towards the war as well as the experiences and emotions of the soldiers. Most of the war poetry is written by soldiers and a few from the poets , those who were not belonged to soldiers community yet affected by war and its consequences. Some soldiers were considered as a honour in taking part in war and they glorified it through the poems. But most of the war poetry shows the terrible side of war and its impact on soldiers life. War poems also contains many questions on humanity, responsibility towards country, death, regret, courage and so on.
