The HIM Department has a policy of no personal phone calls. You know that employees make short calls to let family know they are working late and the like. Pam has begun to spend a lot of time on the telephone discussing personal business. You know she is going through a divorce, but employees are starting to talk.
How would you discuss the situation with Pam?
Since Pan has a personal problem and is going through very rough situations, I would give sympathies for what was happening but violation of policies will not be tolerated.
To rectify the mistakes I would talk to her and explain the whole policies and how they should be followed and if not followed what were the punishment of the violations. I would tell her that other employees have started to talk about her behavior and she wanted to take a leave or two she can but she can't talk over the phone once in 5he office.
