Answer #1

Immobility or prolonged rest causes:

Intestinal mobility decreases leading to constipation and anorexia. Decreased bowel motility

Blood pressure tends to decrease. This happens because there is peripheral pooling of blood. Pooling occurs due to decreased muscle contraction which causes pooling of blood resulting in less blood reaching heart which in turn causes low blood pressure.

Resting or basal metabolic rate decreases with immobility . This happens because of muscle inactivity and loss of muscle mass due to disuse atrophy.

True statement: intestinal mobility decreases

This is a brief discussion on the given topic. Hope this helps you out. Please feel free to give a like and contact us if you need further detailed explanation. Thank you and have a great day.
