Answer: Having a contingency plan for a clinic using EHR has many advantages such as:

  1. It reduces the risk of theft.
  2. It eliminates the risk of data loss.
  3. It prevents from misuse of the healthcare information of the patients.
  4. Keeps information save, encrypted.

Clinic should consider data back-up plan because there are many chances with the electronic system to get damaged aur hang or sometimes by mistakes some of the data get erased which cannot be backup. So, it is necessary for the clinic having the data back up plan.

Using the encrypted system, having password as well as copy of healthcare information of patients along with the important documents should be save wisely. This will provide backup in the case of emergency as well as keeping copies more than one can beneficial.
