It’s very difficult to do an evaluation of the public versus private quality initiativesbecause the reality is that they are the most powerful when they work together. Through collaboration there is a chance in quality, because both of these parties are forced to balance. The goal of both the private and public agencies according to this is to “improve the quality and safety of patient care. The unfortunate reality is that the United states is ranked lower then other countries in health outcomes, there is a hope that by using evidence-based practice there is a distinct possibility of improvement in quality of care . The difficulty is that if you just work in the private sector, then your just focusedon what that private factor wants to prove it’s not necessarily the right outcome. Where as the public factor is not necessarily looking out options for better care, but reduced cost.In this case the two are a good balance, because one is looking to the future and the other is looking to the bottom line.
