If a person is disabled the barriers faced by them are tremendous than others .It can be physical, emotional ,environmental, social etc.m

The types of barrier in older buildings are

  • They are not framed to accommodate or make a travel easy to the disabled person in the particular infrastructure .for e.g., a paralysed patient in wheelchair needs a ramp to move on which is not available in most of the old buildings ,a physically challenged will have difficult to use a manually operated elevators to open and close the door
  • The hearing impaired people face most of the difficulty in workplace environment due to lack of alarms,dome mirror ,flash lights ,alerts etc.,
  • Accessibility to things needed for the disabled people's are not set in the older housing facilitates.
