Tuberculosis (TB) treatment includes long-term, multidrug therapy. In the given case, the patient must be provided with six months of multi-drug therapy. Drugs used in the anti-TB treatment are isoniazid (INH), rifampin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, refapentine, and streptomycin, etc. Follow-up chest-x-rays and bacteriologic studies are necessary.

The anti-TB drug INH interfere with the absorption of vitamin B6. So, pyridoxine is given as a supplement.

Pyridoxine is a vitamin supplement, and it should be taken by the tuberculosis patients taking INH to avoid peripheral neuropathy. It is taken once a day, with or without food.
