Federal government regulated marijuana early in 1937 through the Marijuana tax act. In 1970, Controlled substance act placed marijuana on restrictive category, because it is not purposeful in medicinal use. But later, the National Organization of Reform of Marijuana use legalized the use of marijuana at the state level. During Obama period only 13 states are legalized but In 2017, 26 states have legalized the use of marijuana in the United States. Comparing marijuana now with the 1900s, there is a lot of difference present. In the 1960s only 16% of the country accepted marijuana use whereas today almost 60 -64% of country legalized the use of marijuana and they also used for recreation purposes. In early, it was sold in dispensaries which is not in uniform strength, but now it is regulated but not dispensed for minors.
