Increasing prevalence of dementia among elderly population in US.

Statement problem-

Dementia is a neuro-degenerative progressive neurological disorder that is characterized by forgetfulness and impaired cognition. This disorder is progressive in nature and its severity increases with increasing age. It is seen that moreover the elderly population ageing from 60 to 80 years are more at risk of developing dementia. It is a common symptom of disease such as Alzheimer's. Recent statistics shows that the prevalence of dementia has increased in USA in last two decades and is increasing at an alarming rate. This disorder not only impacts memory and cognition but impacts the overall quality of life of the individual. This rising rate has resulted in increased concerns for the health issue. Therefore, it is important to study the main cause of increasing prevalence of disease to achieve control over its prevention.
