Prevention is important for people before the disease process starts. We need to avoid undesirable events before it happens. Three-level of prevention will really helpful for the patient to avoid the diseases.
Primary prevention:
This measure can prevent or stop the illness before the disease process starts.
Example: Early immunization and avoiding smoking and tobacco
Secondary prevention:
This measure includes the early diagnosis to detect the disease and providing initial treatment for the disease before a serious problem occurs.
Example: Screening test and self-breast examination
Tertiary prevention:
These measures include rehabilitation for their illness. health professionals should re-educate, retrain and rehabilitate people when there are severe impairment and disability.
Health education helps in this three-level prevention to change people's behavior and help for lifestyle modification.
