Answer #1

7. I am assuming there is a typo error and it is 200 grams of aspirin.

weight of aspirin is 200 g.

specific gravity is 1.35

density = specific gravity * water density (water density is 1 gm/ml )

Density of aspirin is 1.35 * 1 = 1.35 g/ml.

volume of aspirin = weight / density

which is 200 / 1.35 = 148 ml

Volume of 200 g aspirin is 148 ml.

8. Weight of menthol  is 1 lb.

1 kg = 2.2 lbs.

so 1 lb = 1 / 2.2 kg which is 0.4545 kg which is 454.5 g

specific gravity of menthol is 0.89

density = specific gravity * density of water ( water density is 1 g/ml )

which is 0.89 * 1 = 0.89 g / ml

Volume of menthol = weight / density

which is 454.5 / 0.89 = 511 ml approximately

volume of 1 lb menthol is 511 ml.
