Adult medical and surgical needs are referred to as the requirements that are related to health and social wellbeing of the individual. These needs are the medicinal, health care such as physical, emotional or social needs. As well as the surgical needs are the needs requirements after a surgery.

Underlying principles-

Medical needs of an adult should be followed and promoted using person centred care model, these needs has to be provided through holistic principles of care. Surgical needs and requirements are also to be provided under humanr rughts principles and by following the standard of ethics and care for nursing.

Nursing intervention-

Medical interventions- these interventions inclide application of medication, administration of medicines, application of symptomatic relief interventions.

Surgical interventions- nursing interventions for relieving post surgical complications such as pain, swelling, emotional trauma etc.
