In this case Dr. fuller should use the blood tests report indicating the level of TSH as well as thyroxine level (major thyroid hormone ) as the diagnostic tools to assess the malfunctioning of thyroid gland. From these diagnostic interventions she might get information might about the state of the thyroid gland as the low level of the thyroxine hormone as well as high level of the TSH indicates the underactive thyroid, leading to the malfunctioning thyroid gland.
