Scenario 6: Esperanza signed up for an Anatomy & Physiology class that meets right after lunch. Esperanza notices after a few days that she is always sleepy in this class. It is easy to be lulled into daydreams by the teacher's voice. Any time the teacher has a group activity, Esperanza feels annoyed about the need to move around. Everything just takes too much energy and she doesn't want to move. She finds this odd because normally she has so much more energy in her other classes. Often about halfway through each class Esperanza always develops a need to visit the restroom and has to slip out quietly to take care of the problem. Review Questions: 1. 1.Parasympathetic part if ANS is responsible as parasympathetic nervous system gets activated In response to the arrival of food in the stomach and small intestine and sympathetic system loses its job for the time being resulting in a subjective state of low energy and a desire to be at rest.

2.she is tired because of postprandial somnolence and she uses washroom so frequently as after having lunch, she is feeling like nothing to do but the kidneys are working at their pace after lunch so rate of urine formation is more and furthur parasympathetic system is activated at that time which causes the detrusor muscle to contract and the internal urethral sphincter to relax.
