1) What are three (3) takeaways for you -- one for each of the following topics:
Recruitment
Selection
Retention
Takeaways from the topics:
RECRUITMENT
Recruitment is the most important HRM function. The executives need
to consider recruitment as the step to end all other measures. What
I mean by that is the fact that the need to utilize job description
and analysis before the process begins can add value to the overall
success of the endeavor and therefore has reduced demand for
training and increased satisfaction from an individual's role and
position.
SELECTION
Selection should be made based on a pre-screening process where the
HR manager has to choose from only a select few candidates. It
gives them the proper time frame and inclination to evaluate
individuals. Selection, especially one without bias, has the
potential to employ individuals most suited to the position being
offered and therefore reduces unrealistic expectations and
essentially turnover rate.
RETENTION
Retention requires commitment, motivation, inclination, and the use
of better benefits, the process of appraisal, and managing the
aspect of engagement of the employees. It is essential that the HRM
pays the right amount of consideration to retention to reduce
turnover and necessarily gain back the time and capital they have
invested in the particular employee.
