Here in Florida we read and hear stories and concerns about what's going on with our ocean water in Gulf of Mexico (red tide, environmental pollution/spills), drinking water supply and pollution (the Floridan Aquifer and springs), Indian River Lagoon (manatees and ecological crisis), etc. This discussion gives you an opportunity to share with us your particular interests, opinions, points of view on any aspect of this very broad topic.

Water is one essential thing for human survival. 0 percent of our body is made up of water. Water has many other influences in hum, a culture. Water resources influence our culture and food habit by controlling precipitation which influences the climate. Ocean serves absolves more than half of CO₂ that is emitted in the atmosphere. Water is living apace for the aquatic animals who are important sources of food for the population. The water bodies control the precipitation, climate. Many people in the world depend upon water for their livelihood and income. Like farmers. Water sources are one the main factor which controls the agriculture. Also, we can have an example of marine tourism and people depending upon tourism.

But on the way of development, we may have forgotten the mother nature. We are exploiting every natural resource as much as we can. Water is no other exception. The biggest threat of water is incraesing contamination of carbon dioxide into the oceans. As the CO2 contamination is increasing the acidity of water is increasing day by day which is causing the death of many organic organisms. The amount of dissolved oxygen in ocean water is also decreasing day by day which is ideal for the algae boom ( mainly the anaerobic) causing a phenomenon like the red tide in the Gulf of Mexico where a selected number of algae has increased in large numbers. On the other hand oil spill is another threat to marine ecology. Every year they are many cases of the oil spill in the international trade roots which affect marine ecology in a very bad manner.

Not only that marine ecology is in threat. The inland freshwater sources are also in danger. We have polluted rivers and lakes by throwing our industrial and domestic wastes in it. Many rivers and lakes have been dried up due to the making dams over it. We have dried the aquifers so that over groundwater table is getting low by time. we used aquifers and groundwater for every possible way from irrigation purposes to industrial and household purposes. This drying situation of groundwater can lead to desertification. The Aquifers which are not dried up are getting polluted as we are directly throwing our industrial and domestic wastes in the wetlands which are the source water for the aquifers over the surface. we can take the example of aquifers in Florida which are being polluted for the anthropogenic factors as the waters of the wetland s are being polluted by the domestic and industrial wastes. It is not that humans are only affected. The whole ecosystem is dangerous, Species like Manatees, Seahorse, Polar Beer are on the verge of extinction. So if don't take preventive measures to control the water pollution human as well as the whole ecosystem will face a great threat in the near future.
