Acquired information onto college is received through recognised sources like rankings released by Media Agencies and Newspapers, TV advertising about specific colleges, peer reviews, third party educational startups who deploy comparison tools, Teachers feedback, education counselling sessions, etc.

Here students evaluate each attribute and compare relatively and select the highest weighted college in terms of cumulative score and thus is form of compensatory decision making rule which gives them edge onto decisions.
