Answer #1

We have to find molar concentration (molarity) of acetic acid in 5% vinegar solution.

Given :

Density of vinegar = 1.08 g/mL

Molar mass of acetic acid = 60.05g

Volume of solution = 100mL

Volume of vinegar (acetic acid) = 5mL

Solution :

Mass of acetic acid = density * volume

= 5mL * 1.08 g/mL = 5.4g

Moles of acetic acid = 5.4/ 60.05 = 0.08992

Molarity = no. of moles of solute(mol)/ volume of solution(L)

= 0.08992/0.1

=0.899M
