Ethics is mostly heard when an individual has to make a choice in between good and bad. It is basically concerned about the moral principles which form the base of any judgment or decision or choice, which is the reason every person’s moral values are different. Ethics are very common and important for any organization to run an effective business. Operation management is the approach of managing, improving, designing and operating the business process. The role of ethics in operations is very important because here it is being concerned that the way of how profit is obtained rather than its quantity. Ethical dilemma is a situation in which a person has to choose from two equally urgent and incompatible alternatives. The most common ethical dilemma in operations is opportunism, i.e. an abuse of opportunity. There are various factors that create the situation of ethical dilemmas like pressure from the higher authorities. Second is procurement which is most vulnerable to experience the unethical conduct as it is outside the office. Bribery is another ethical issue in the operations. The second department is the IT department in an organization which is responsible for the computer related issues and tasks like programming, technical support, software updating etc. IT also as some of the ethical issues like electronic surveillance, viruses attack, piracy, software related. Every organization experience ethical dilemmas but to pass through that stage, there must be proper training in every department so that the employees will be able to handle the situation ethically.
