Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words: Read the assigned chapters in the text. As well, conduct online research on learning theory, transfer of learning and the learning process. Answer the following questions: What conditions are needed for learning to occur? What things make it more likely that trainees can apply what they learned when they are back on the job? Based on your responses to the above, what are the implications for designing and delivering training?

Learning can occur only when there is awareness that there is something to be learned, a motivation to learn something and the relevance of the learning process in the future. In the presence of these three factors, learning can occur with great emphasis and interest in what is being taught.

Trainees are more likely to use what they learn in their job if what they learned is relevant to the jobs and tasks performed. Also, if the newly learned practices are better and more efficient hat the ones previously used, trainees are more likely to use them.

To design and deliver training, research has to be undertaken on what practices or materials should be larned by the trainees. this should be based on the skills required to perform the job efficiently or the skills which will be required shortly. Similarly, if the training helps the trainees learn methods or concepts which would improve productivity or creativity, it would be more successful in its goal.
