In pfSense firewall GUI consist of both Intrusion Detection and Prevention System. Whereas normal firewall consists of an only an Intrusion detection system.
In pfSense firewall GUI consists of a large number of features to protect from cyber attacks such as of proxy and content filtering, User Authentication, Virtual Private Network, Reporting and monitoring and much more. But the normal home router only consists of basic security such as an antivirus for filtering and monitoring.
In pfSense firewall GUI Configiuations can be done by the administrator according to the requirements. Whereas there are not many options for configurations in the router.
