2320 PDQ 1-Chapter 16 c. Explain generally what it means to be the kinetic product. Do not focus on this specific reaction, but instead come up with a generic definition. If given an energy diagram for a reaction, which specifie piece of information would you focus on (starting material energies, activation energies, relative product energies)? Which conditions favor the kinctic product (high/low temps, long/short reaction times)? d. Explain generally what it means to be the thermodynamic product. Do not focus on this specific reaction, but instead come up with a generic definition If given an energy diagram for a reaction, which specific piece of information would you focus on (starting material energies, activation energies, relative product energies)? Which conditions favor the thermodynamic product (high/low temps, long short reaction times)? Use the energy diagram in part Ib) to explain which product from la) would be favored under kinetic conditions. Point to specific factors about the mechanism and pieces of information from the energy diagram to explain your reasoning. e. Use the energy diagram to explain which product would be favored under thermodynamic conditions. Point to specific factors about the mechanism and pieces of information from the energy diagram to explain your reasoning. f.

Answer #1

c. Kinetic product is one that forms the fastest.

Energy diagram for a reaction indicates the progress of a chemical reaction versus total energy. It mainly indicates the relative product energies.

Usually low temperature and short reactions leads to kinetic product.

d. thermodynamic product is one that is most stable.

Energy diagram for a reaction indicates the progress of a chemical reaction versus total energy. It mainly indicates the relative product energies.

High temperature and long reactions leads to thermodynamic product.

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
