The room arrangement is important in achieving instructional goals as the way a teacher navigates in a room can affect how immersive the class is for the students. This can positively affect the learnings that the students take away from the class. Also, it is important to mitigate any of the disruptions that may occur because of the inefficient and improper room arrangements.

The four principles of room arrangement are as follows:-

1. Mitigate the obstructions in the areas where there is going to be more traffic
   These areas might be the entry and the exit points also the points where the students may go to put trash. These points should be made easily accessible to all the students.
2. The teacher should be in a position to see the whole class
   This is important as the teacher needs to keep an eye on every student and therefore there should not be any blind spots from the point of view of the teacher.
3. The common logistics should be easily accessible
   The material that is going to be needed by all the students should be made readily available to them so that no time is wasted in the arrangements of books, paper, pencils etc.
4. Every student should be able to see "everything" without any hassle
   It should be made sure that all of the students are able to see the whole class so that they do not face any problem in keeping at pace with the class.
