6 shops are selected to participate in a promotional campaign for an item. The sale of the items was recorded before and after the campaign, to find out wheher the campaign worked or not.

(a) Now, as this is to check whether the campaign has worked or not, so we have to search for evidences that show that the shops have benefitted from the campaigns, ie. the mean sales after the campaign was higher than it was before.

The level of significance is 5%.

To find the null and the alternate hypothesis.

Now, our job would be to claim that the mean sales did not change, or decreased, against the claim, that the mean sales after is greater.

Now, $\mu _{1}$ is the mean sales of the item before campaign and $\mu _{2}$ is the mean sales of the item after the campaign.
