This is a Chi square test of independence.

Ho: The two variables are not dependent.

Ha: The two variable are dependent.

(a) Expected frequency =( Row total * coloum total) / grand total

Expected frequency cell (Group 2, No) = (140 * 200) / 400 = 70

ANS: Expected frequency = 70

(b) Chi square for that cell :

\chi^{2} = {\frac{(O-E)^{2}}{E}} = \frac{(68- 70)^{2}}{70}

\chi^{2} = 0.057

ANS : \chi^{2} = 0.057

Note : As part of the solution, there is no need for mentioning hypothesis, have still mentioned it.

Also mu is not applicable in Chi square test.
