There are 30 students in this class, and for Exam 1 everyone has been given a choice for Exam 1. If no one takes Exam 1 then everyone will get a 100. If one person takes exam 1, then all exams will be graded and you will earn whatever grade you got on the exam whether you took it or not. Sally decides to not take the exam thinking option 1 for a 100 was a sure thing. She received a zero on the exam. How would you explain to her the fault in her logic?

Answer #1

As there is no information on the fact that anybody has given the exam or not, i am asuming that somebody might have taken it.

thus on the basis of this asumption i say that if somebody has given the exam and sally thought of not giving it then she would get zero because of not taking up the exam

the probability of someone taking the exam w as high as there are 30 students in the class thus she missed to give it a thought that even if 1 person will take the exam than everbody will get their deserved marks whichi in her case are zero because she didnt gave her exam.
