Answer #1

The Renaissance artist I believe most inspired future artists and thinkers is Leonardo da Vinci.

He was an artist whose works were a tangible reflection of popular humanist ideals. His interest and works spanned in vast fields of art, architecture, music, science, mathematics and anatomy. The number of intellectual and artistic branches that he dabbled in was vast and varied. When Leonardo da Vinci’s work is compared to other artists like Galileo Galilei and Copernicus we can clearly see that it was Leonardo da Vinci who most ideally embodied the values of a classic Renaissance human being. His works also focused on humanism as being a significant intellectual movement.

Besides being an excellent artist da Vinci was also a master inventor. His inclination towards science can be gauged from one of his most famous drawing – Viruvian Man. Thus drawing is about the image of a man that is superimposed in two positions.

Vinci was instrumental in shaping the intellectual, social and cultural aspects of European life and he stamped his authority on these aspects like no other artist was able to do.
