Answer #1

Let u = object distance

v = image distance

f = focal length

We have lens equation,

1/f = 1/u +1/v

Given that u+v = 5.7 cm & f= -2.5 cm

Substitute v = (5.7 - u) in the lense equation.

%3D 수+ 부 -0-4 %3D %3D -2.5 = -0.4 n(n-t – 0-4 21-nt-4 0.44 4-5.7U-14.25 =0 0 = nt SX0,hh.Q 24=7.58

Hence ,

(a) image distance = -1.88 cm

(b) object distance = 7.58 cm

Hope the answer helps you. All the best wishes for your studies ?.
