old pocket watch from its chain, examining the watch. When the plane starts to accelerate for takeoff, she
is holding the pocket watch steady by its 20.0 cm chain, looking at the ornate backplate of the watch. As
the plane accelerates, the watch swings back and taps her on the nose. Pulling her head back, she digs out
her protractor and measures that the watch and chain are making a constant angle of 25O with respect to
the vertical until the plane takes off, 18 seconds after it started accelerating. Calculate the takeoff velocity
of the airplane
